Would Your Spray Bed Liner Coatings Crack if Struck Hard?
Question:
Would these coatings shatter if struck with hard objects, and would something penetrate it?
Answer:
The flexibility of the product would prevent any “shattering” or cracking generally. Our formulation has enough flexibility to tolerate rock and such strikes. If struck with something like a 5 lb hammer, you could stress the coating beyond its tolerance and crack it however. Of course, this would also mean that the impact was significant enough to do considerable body damage.
Our Diamondback Ultra Liner is even more flexible. With the addition of Kevlar, it has excellent durability, despite the higher flexibility. For surfaces which anticipate extreme abuse, it may be your best option. It would be virtually impossible to crack Diamondback Ultra Liner.
Just like any coating or drop in bedliner, striking hard enough with a sharp could penetrate it. While the coating is very hard, the same flexibility which prevents cracking, also means it can possibly be penetrated. Hammering in a nail (for instance) could penetrate the coating.
