What do I need to apply the polyurea cartridge spray coatings?
Question:
What do I need to apply the polyurea cartridge spray coatings?
Answer:
Our Rhino / Line-X Alternative polyurea coatings are generally recommended for the serious applicator only. It is intended to provide an affordable opportunity to apply the same coatings as the big guys without the franchise fees or restrictions. It also requires less expensive spray equipment, which keeps your investment at a minimum.
That said, the basic requirements are still not cheap. Some of the details about the cartridge truck bed liner polyurea include:
This product consists of (6) cartridges per case.
Each Cartridge has (2) 750 ml containers which are mixed by the mixing tube (1 tube per cartridge included). Each case of 6 is just under 2 1/2 gallons by volume of 100% solids products. One case is recommended for an 8 foot truck bed over the rails. Less if under the rail application or a 6 foot bed.
The cartridges need a compatible spray gun to dispense (included in the larger packages, or available individually).
To properly apply, you need:
1 – An air compressor with at least 10 cfm capacity at 110 psi
2 – An air dryer (any of the pure polyurea products will require this) usually available for a few hundred dollars
3 – A full body suit with full face mask
4 – Minimum of dual charcoal filters (fresh air supply recommended)
5 – Wire tape (this cures in seconds and the wire is needed to cut through the over spray)
Also… colors are available, and the larger orders can be of different colors if required, but each case must be of same color.
