How long before I can use my new liner?
Question:
I want to spray my truck bed with your coatings. How long do I have to wait before using my truck after spraying?
Answer:
SL&C brand Bedliner products are generally thumbprint tacky in about 2 hours, and dry to the touch in about 4 hours. This is presuming they are applied as recommended at approximately 80 degrees. After about 6 hours, most DIY kits are about 85% cured, but will continue to harden over the next 48 hours.
Assuming the weather conditions are dry and warm, you could use your truck after about 4 hours, but not carry items in the truck bed. Light duty truck bed use is possible in 12 hours, and your truck can usually be put into full service in 48 hours. Light rain is not an issue after about 4 hours, but we do generally recommend you avoid exposing to adverse conditions as long as possible.
Temperature, specific product, and exact formula affect your cure times. Always check to ensure your coating is hardened before using to carry loads. The product should not leave a mark if pressing your thumbnail into the material.
