Does Spraying Bedliner on Floorpan Help Reduce Sound?
Question:
Does spraying SL&C bed liner coatings help with sound and heat reduction if sprayed in the floorpans?
Answer:
The best sound reduction will be achieved by applying bed liner coatings as an undercoating. This may also reflect some heat depending on the heat source. Applying these coatings inside on the floorboard will provide vibration deadening, for a more comfortable ride. However, interior coatings may not supply as much overall road noise reduction.
When spraying as an interior coating (or undercoating), we would recommend a slightly more flexible version of our coatings. We can vary the hardness for more flexibility. This allows for more of a vibration deadening effect.
Our Vehicle Interior Coatings, and Colored Jeep Interior kits include this more flexible formulation. We can also provide customized kits to suit your specific needs. Simply give us a call at 855-545-4900, and enter extension 901 during the main greeting for a custom quote.
NOTE: If purchasing one of our standard kits to use as undercoating, you may want to use a different spray gun. The standard gun provided is a texture hopper, but we can also provide a Schutz type spray gun. Another popular choice is the texture spray gun with a 3.0 liter hopper. These options are available through our Sales Support number as well.
