What kind of color tint or paint do I need to match my truck?
Question:
If I buy your tintable bedliner, what do I need to use to match my truck color?
Answer:
Any single stage, single part automotive paint will work with our clear bedliner to color match. The clear is available in products such as our Clear Bedliner, and as part of our Tintable Truck Bed Liner kits. This allows you to simply purchase in your exact paint code. Use any extra left over as a final topcoat if you like. You can also save money by asking for just the “pigments without binder”. Pigments alone can’t be used as a final coat, but will avoid the extra cost of purchasing binder which isn’t required.
Any oil based exterior enamel paint will also work as color tint. This allows you to select from the wide variety of colors from your local paint retailer. You will find that the surface is a bit tack for longer If selecting an oil based paint for color tinting our bedliner. Although the coating will be cured in about 6 hours, the tint will require a couple of days to fully dry. You can use the truck for light duty hauling, but it’s not recommended to leave items in the bed for long periods of time until at least 72 hours have passed.
