Do I need to buy an additional gun for this or is the one that comes with it fine?

Answer:

The gun that comes with it is fine for most applications. For the color kits, you might find that an HVLP gun (available at most home or tool supply stores) will be beneficial. The topcoat does not include the powder additive and will be thinner product whic can more easily be applied with the smaller gun.
