Can I use my own texture hopper gun to spray your bedliner coatings?
Can I use my own texture hopper gun to spray your bedliner coatings?
Question:
The spray gun on your SL&C storefront appears to be a texturing gun that I already have. Can I buy the product without buying a gun from you?
Answer:
Yes… The texture hopper we supply with many kits is a basic professional quality texture hopper. You can often save money by purchasing from eBay or other online retailers as well. We supply these guns primarily as a convenience to our customers. Be advised that some texture hoppers (such as Harbor Freight texture hoppers) don’t come with the control valve. This causes the gun to always be spraying air (even when the trigger isn’t pulled). You are recommended to purchase a valve if your current hopper doesn’t include one to provide better control over the spray process.
Many of our formulations may require additional powder product added to the mix (included with those kits). These coatings are best applied with a texture hopper, so an HVLP spray gun isn’t advised.
The high build smooth applications can often be applied with an HVLP gun if no powder is being used to thicken. With these coatings, you are advised to use a minimum of 2.0 mm spray tip. The coatings are very thick, and thinning for use with smaller tip requires additional coats to be applied. We modify the standard 1.4 mm tip to 2.0 mm in order to allow a thicker coating be sprayed.
Either gun can be substituted with most commonly available guns, and we can adjust the price of kits if you do not need the guns. We also have a 2 1/2 gallon commercial grade texture hopper available for large spray jobs, along with a pressure pot with 3.0 mm spray tip.
