Can I brush your bedliner on?
Can I brush your bedliner on?
Question:
There are some areas I can’t reach with hopper gun. Can I apply SL&C brand truck bed coatings with a brush?
Answer:
As always… the preferred method of application is texture hopper spray gun. You may find that an undercoating gun is also helpful in tight areas. We have an undercoating gun available as well (although we don’t feel these work as well as texture hopper). Using a brush always leaves brush marks, since this is a thick product. While this method is fine for small areas or touch-up applications, applying over large areas would not usually provide the professional finish most individuals are seeking. Using a brush to “dab” a small area if they are repairing an existing spray on bedliner in order to create a matching texture is advised however.
You have to wait longer between coats with brush application as well. The previous coat needs to be firmer to stand up to brush agitation. If using a brush, wait at least 3 hours between coats. If texturing, be sure to apply the final coat rather thin with the lp40 Poly Powder included.
