How far does one gallon go… will it cover the whole bed?
Question:
How far does one gallon go… will it cover the whole bed?
Answer:
While you might see products at Walmart or other retailers advertising they will cover the whole bed, they simply do not provide protection. A gallon only covers an area with a certain thickness no matter the product. Most of these products are single part products which means they dry, not cure. When a bedliner product dries, it loses a certain percentage by evaporation (making the end result thinner), and many of these products are about 40% VOC (the part that evaporates). All Spray Lining and Coatings products are 100% solids and do not evaporate (they cure), so any of our products will cover almost twice the area at the same thickness as these “one gallon does a whole bed” claims. We do recommend you stick with our recommendation of using more than 2 gallons (final sprayable product) for a compact truck, and at least 4 gallons for a full size pickup to get the recommended 63 mil average thickness to give true truck bed protection instead of simply painting the surface with bedliner.
