Can I use your bedliner renew kit to freshen up my 5 year old bedliner?
Question:
I have a 2015 Dakota with a sprayed in bedliner which is faded and stained. Will your truck bedliner renew kit restore the original gloss and make it look like new again?
Answer:
For best results, we would recommend purchasing 2 of the kits. Coating the entire bed may be a bit thin with only one kit.
You may also want to consider our Diamondback Ultra Truck Bed Liner product. This particular kit includes more than ½ gallon (total mixed quantity if using the Poly Powder) additional bedliner over 2 of the Renew kits. It is a more durable product with even greater adhesion. Only thing to consider is that it is a bit more glossy than our standard bedliner product.
Best spray gun is a standard texture hopper if available. The middle size tip is usually suitable. Thinning may be required if using a Shutz style undercoating gun, and HVLP is usually not able to apply thick coatings. You could also roll on using a 3/8 inch or shorter nap roller, but spraying is preferred if possible.
NOTE: These products generally require temperatures at or above 70° F to cure at a reasonable rate. Lower temperatures require significantly longer to cure. This is particularly true when applying thinner top coating applications. Also… Using lacquer thinner requires that the solvent evaporate, which requires warmer temperatures.
