Answer:

Unfortunately, the cartridge system products are designed to cure within seconds, not minutes, and are combined in the mixing tube. Once spraying starts, you have generally less than a minute before the coating is too hard to gain good adhesion for any top coat product. Texture is generally achieved the same as virtually all professional applicators for national brands through a final texture coat. After spraying the entire surface to the desired thickness, a final light coat is done at a distance 3 or more times greater sprayed somewhat “off target”. The droplets are allowed to fall onto the surface individually versus as a build coat.

Depending on your surface and purpose, you could consider spraying a base coat, broadcasting your medium, and then sealing with a light spray overcoat. You might also be able to spray your base coat, and then have another individual broadcast your Aluminum Oxide as you spray a light top coat. This same thing could be done by broadcasting as the initial coat is applied. Just be sure to utilize the same respiratory protection for any assistants as you would employ for yourself.
