How much does the color match kit cost for my paint code?
Question:
What’s the cost for a truck bed liner in the same paint code color as my truck? I have a Ford F150 which I want to match.
Answer:
The Exact Color Match option in our Full Size Colored Truck Bed Liner kit includes everything needed to exactly match any full size truck. We also have smaller kits available. The Color Match Bedliner kit, and the Tintable option on the full size kit are designed to allow you to do the color matching. This saves money by allowing you to select from automotive pigments available locally. You can read more on the “What kind of color tint do I need?” article.
The process is to first apply the bedliner or protective coating in a light grey color. This is done by mixing 2 components of liquid and a variable mix of powdered products. The powders are dark grey, so they can’t be mixed into the color coat. Thickening with the Poly Powder allows faster build on vertical surfaces and spraying of the texture you choose.
The color match is done by adding automotive paint or pigments to the 2 part clear bedliner provided in the kit. You would purchase from your local auto paint supplier, or it would be included with our complete exact match kits.
The tintable option allows you to control the exact finished product color. If using just the automotive pigments, you would usually need about 80 grams per quart of clear bedliner. If using automotive paint or oil-based enamels, you would usually use 2 – 3 times as much (160 – 240 grams per quart).
